Finally, nursing/swaddling blankets!!

Or as I like to call them...."Grow with me blankies". They have so many uses, are so super functional it's hard to just call it one thing. So I thought I'd give them a name, has a catching ring to it...well I least I think so. We'll see what "M" has to say!! LOL!

Here are just some of their uses & why they can grow with Baby:

*The work great as nursing blankets & are big enough to cover both Mommy & baby!
*They work great as a swaddling blankets--large enough to keep them nice & snuggled in the early months & large enough to keep them covered as the get older.
*The are easy to fold up & throw in your diaper bag & take with you while you are out & about and if you need to change your baby....just pull it out and place your baby on it--feeling safe knowing your baby is safe from germs!!
**It's great for when they start moving around, like rolling over or tummy time!
**When they get to be toddler stage they still work great as a nap time blanket or playtime blanket.
**Even now, Marlita's daughter who is 7 uses hers to wrap her dolly's in!! My daughter who is two uses them as her security blanket! So they have been personally tested and mother approved!!!

Okay. So here they are....they are about 35x40 and are light weight. We've been working on using the snuggle fleece fabric & hope to have some to show in the next few weeks. The price on a standard blanket is 20.00 & we can customize if you'd like (as best we can).

I have received several emails regarding prices on cakes. We don't have too many left in stock but I'm going to revise the post below that will include the pricing on the diaper cakes & burp cloths and nursing blankets (which for some reason I still DON'T have a picture of yet--LOL). We don't have a large inventory as we work alot in making "custom" cakes BUT we are in the process of making some new cakes this next month. All basic boy or girl cakes and some neutral.

Basic diaper cakes include approx. 55-60 size one diapers (unless you request another size)......and some basic items like travel-size toiletries, teething rings, paci's a bottle, etc.....stuff like that. That usually runs about $35-$45.00.

A set of 4 burp cloths is $15.00
A nursing blanket is $20.00.
A matching set of 4 burp cloths & one nursing blankets runs about $30.00.

Our main goal is to create a "Younique" diaper cake......based off of your needs & budget. If you have a shower theme you'd like it to coordinate with--we can do it. If there is a nursery theme you'd like it to match--we can do it. If you want us to shop off their registry--we can do it!

I wish I had pictures of the nursing blankets.....they are awesome!!! The great thing about them is they can double as a swaddling blanket......without a doubt a wonderful gift in itself!! As for the burp cloths here are a couple picture to remind you of what they look like & what we have in stock! The best part of the burp cloths & nursing blankets.....they can coordinate to the custom diaper cakes OR you can just place a seperate order for the nursing blankie & burp cloths as a set (matching/coordinating--of course!!!)!!! This is another "Younique" gift idea!!

This was a custom cake made for a new Mommy with a new little boy, who I'm sure one day will attend OSU! LOL! We made a custom OSU nursing/swaddling blankie & 4 custom burp cloths! The rest was just fun to find...little booties, little cap & bib!!! It was tons of fun to make!

I got so busy putting it together that I forgot to wrap in the other two burp cloths though...LOL!!
So here's what they looked like! I wish I had been smart enough to take a picture of the nursing blanket!

The Holiday Market!!!

We are so excited about our very first craft show! I picked up our sign on Friday, Marlita came over Friday night and we slaved away on diaper cakes into the weeeeeee hours of the morning and will be putting our finally touches on everything this week! Hope you'll come and see us!!! Don't know where our booth will be just yet but come out and look for us--we'll be the ones with the nervous looks on our faces!!!! ;o)

Well Marlita and I have started the process of getting busy on diaper cakes for our very 1st craft fair! I'm a little nervous because it's soooo close and over the last month this has taken a backseat to my life--it's been a little out of sorts between Heath, Olivia & going to Wisconsin--and so it hits me.....it's less then TWO WEEKS away! Marlita has been VERY good and has all the burp cloths done BUT we need 25 cakes assembled and ready by NEXT Saturday! It'll happen, in fact, I work best under pressure. SOOOOO....sorry for the delay in my postings, I've been a busy girl with lots on her plate but will get more pics and information posted as we get this show on the road!

Here is a sample of the NEW burp cloths Marlita's been slaving away on! She just brought over the girl ones so right now I only have the boy ones to share--they are SUPER cute though!

I just got a letter today that we've been accepted into "The Holiday Market" craft fair at The Church at Battle Creek! I'm so excited......it's a huge deal and is always so succesful...there will be over 100 booths there and LOTS of fun shopping to be had! I can't wait to be so stressed out but get the end result................to finally get BUSINESS OUT THERE!!!!

We are also on the waiting list for a blog makeover....in the next few weeks we should be all done. I can't wait for you all to see the new blog!

Also, be on the look out for pictures of the new burp cloths. They are sooooo cute!!!!

Two new cakes....one great feature!

Okay, here are a couple of cakes Marlita & I worked on over the last week or so....the pink cake features a few of the new burp cloths Marlita has been working sooooo hard on for the last two weeks! She's a trooper and has done a wonderful job.....I don't want her to get discouraged because she really dose have a great talent and they are so worth it! (Marla...once we make it BIG we can hire someone to sew for you--in the meantime--guess you'll have to teach me!! LOL)

Me & Marlita got together again and actually made progress. We put together lots of ideas and started on four cakes. Well we put all the "stuff" together for the cakes and we will be shopping this week for the diapers. So it's progress. We have TWO craft fairs to prep for in November. I'd really like to sign up for a couple more but I'm just not sure if it'll be worth it until we have one under our belt! SOOOO for now I'll stick with the two we've signed up for and kinda search for a few more. We'll see. Anyway....we are making progress! Can't wait to post pics!!

Marlita--I'm sooooo excited that she said YES to becoming apart of YouNique Technique!!!!!

She'll help me add a more personal touch to the diaper cakes....such as burp cloths, blankets & much more so stayed tuned!!!

It's funny though....she's the reason I started making diaper cakes!! She helped me create my very first one!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

I got an email from a gentleman wanting a cake. This was on a Thursday night--he wanted it for Saturday!!! After a few calls, I got all the details and before I could really quote him a price he said I will give $100 to have it by 1pm Saturday! I was like......it'll be there!!!

So here it is. I forgot to take a picture of it all wrapped in tule..it looked so cute!!

I actually made it a 4 tiered cake! I was a little stressed but I work best under pressure!!!

Focusing on unique items like Diaper Cakes, Towel Cakes, Personalized Scrapbooks, and anything else we can come up with that has a "YouNique" way about it!
